As if having the irritating and fiction-obsessed Bob Costas grinding his way thru another Olympics (hit the Mute button) wasn't bad enough, now we have big Brian doing the see and be seen thing.
He was just commenting on the Sat Aug 9th swimming coverage, saying that Phelps could break Mark Spitz' record of seven gold medals. Wrong Mr. Costas, I mean Mr. Williams.
Before winning the seven golds at Munich in '72, Spitz won a relay gold at Mexico City in '68. Of course, this was two different Olympics, but that is what he was referring to for Phelps - a combined total.
Maybe NBC should spend some $$ on fact-checkers and not so much on hair and makeup.
