The plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West's mother, Donda West, before she died has been sentenced to a year in jail for drunken driving.
Dr. Jan Adams, 54, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor drunken driving last year, according to The Associated Press.
On June 26, 2008, authorities say Adams' Jaguar was spotted traveling the wrong way on Interstate 680 near Cordelia, Calif. Adams' blood alcohol level was .20 percent, over twice the legal limit.
Solano County Court Commissioner Ray Wieser sentenced the doctor Monday. He will receive credit for eight days he previously served.

Nominees of 2009 Naacp Image Awards for its recording category have been announced on January 7 in Los Angeles. From the announcement, it is revealed that Jennifer Hudson leads the pack with six nods and Beyonce Knowles follows with five counts.
Topping the music list, Jennifer competes with Anthony David, Estelle, Jazmine Sullivan and Leona Lewis in "Outstanding New Artist". The doctor who operated on Kanye West's mother a day before she died has been literally barred from plying his trade. Plastic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams, who last year pleaded no contest to misdemeanor driving under the influence, was sentenced Monday in Solano County Court to a year in jail. Not long after the circumstances surrounding 58-year-old Donda West's death came under intense scrutiny, Adams was busted early on the morning of June 26 in Vallejo, Calif., after officers spotted him using an exit ramp to get on the freeway. A music video guest-starring Chris Brown in support of T-Pain's new song "Freeze" has been outed. Directed by Syndrome, it features both singers performing lots of dance moves with "a lot of cool energy."
"Freeze" is the third single taken from T-Pain's third major studio album "Thr33 Ringz". The track has been available for purchase since October 2008. It charted at number 62 on U.K. Singles chart and climbed to number 38 on Billboard Hot 100.
"Thr33 Ringz" itself is a self-produced record which has hit the market since November 2008. It has featured guests from such stars as Ludacris, Ciara, Lil Wayne, Akon, T.I., Kanye West, Musiq Soulchild, Mary J. Blige, P. Diddy and DJ Khaled among others.

Kanye West thought avoiding ghosts would improve his singing.
The 'Stronger' star - who has come under criticism for ditching rapping for singing on his current album '808s and Heartbreak' - was left bemused after asking Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos for vocal tips backstage at Kroq's Almost Acoustic Christmas concert in California.
A source revealed: "Alex told him not to have conversations in noisy places, to not smoke, and to stay away from the spirits, to which Kanye said, 'Spirits? Like, ghosts?'"
Kanye recently insisted he doesn't care that his new album may have cost him some followers.
